SCOPES
Scope accuracy:
Not all scopes are alike:Some scopes are very expensive and some are less expensive. Lower end scopes have no resale value. (They are a throw away item). The better quality scopes retain their value and most have a lifetime warranty. If you have a lower end scope and you are trying to figure out why the shot is off, it could be recoil, throwing the rifle in the back of the pickup bed or simply dropping the rifle.
Any kind of impact can throw off the scope accuracy.
Recommendation:
Purchase the best scope you can afford.
Package Deals:
Sometimes they are not all they seem to be. Most people think that they are getting a scope that is matched up properly to the rifle they are purchasing. However the scope is not able to stand the recoil of the rifle and will throw off the accuracy of the scope………….. A 22 caliber up to a 25 caliber rifle with a very slight recoil will handle a lower end scope. But when you go from a 25 caliber up will need a better quality scope to insure the bullet impact remains constant. There is usually a $30.00 to $50.00 difference between a low end scope and a mid range better quality scope
Scopes:
You can do all sorts of things with the rifle like bedding, barrel crowing, trigger job, recoil pads. But a scope has to be returned to the factory for repairs then remounted on the rifle and re-sighted in.
