The Technical Corner

It would be so much easier to tell you what you need, however not all people are alike, nor are rifles. Even though rifles can be manufactured by the same company, meeting the same requirements, they are like people, no two are the same.

Most Commonly Asked Questions:

What should I look for when buying a rifle for him or her?

Look at the stock length……Will it fit you properly?
Women and younger hunters tend to need shorter stocks.

What is the Caliber and can you handle the recoil?

Larger Caliber rifles have more recoil.
Muzzle brakes and good recoil pads reduce the felt recoil:
There is no reason to have a black, and blue shoulder,
There is no reason to create a flinch. Allow us to tame that rifle.
We can reduce the recoil by 40% to 50%, this does depends upon the caliber. Could even be better than what was stated, because it does have a lot to do with caliber.

Calibers depend on what you use the rifle for..…
(Hunting, target shooting etc.)

The General rule of thumb is to choose:
The caliber you are most comfortable with. And can shoot accurately.

A good  reason to put a muzzle brake on a  large caliber rifle that women, and  youth, will be using that doesn’t fit them.  They cannot hold it in the proper  position on their shoulder. They will end up with a black and blue area, and your mind will create a flinch, (it is a subconscious reaction).

Trigger:

Excessively hard trigger pull tends to break your concentration and may cause you to pull off the target... more

Scopes:

Purchase the best scope you can afford. A good brand name is important. Some of the lower level scopes do not handle recoil very well. The internal parts tend to move, during firing thus moving the point of impact... more
